Ron Rainwater owns and operates Statewide Student Promotions. His approach to business is personal, community oriented, and he provides exceptional, personal service. When a telemarketer calls that is not me or my company. Like you, Ron cares about the quality of life in the community and giving something back. When in high school, Ron was very active in sports and he understands the important character building aspects of being a part of a team. After a serious, debilitating accident in June 2003 and a subsequent one-year recovery period, Ron began to think about how he could combine his career in sales while making a difference in the community. Recalling the important contributions that high school sports made to his life and seeing how these activates were in jeopardy as a result of budget cutting, Ron decided he could make a difference by promoting and contributing to high school athletics. Statewide Student Promotions is the result. Since that time, Ron has continued to expand Statewide. Communities, businesses, and athletes have benefited from the partnership that develops between business sponsorships and the support to the high school athletic departments. Ron is dedicated to the idea that all around physical, educational and the social development of an individual—be it a student, athlete, spectator, or business owner—will improve and enhance the quality of life in our community and our country. Ron says, “I also believe we can keep our country number one in the world market through educational support.”
Ron has an affinity for and understanding of small town life. He was born in a small farming town in Iowa and moved to Rochelle, Illinois when he was 2 years old. There he grew up on the farm learning to drive a farm tractor around the barnyard when he was only six. He attended grade school in Creston, IL and graduated from Rochelle Township High School where he was active in the high school athletic program. Ron attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois and returned to rural Rochelle and started a farming business in 1972. In 1985, he sold his farm and to pursue a career in sales. His sales experience is diverse and covers a wide variety of industries and products. Even before he owned his own business, Ron’s approach to sales and customer service was personal. Because of this, he has generated thousands of sales with repeat clients. His customers have become friends. Since 2004 when Ron began Statewide Student Promotions, he has built a reputation for dedication to his customers and the community. Ron and his wife Donna, who also helps with the business, continue to live in Rochelle. They are the parents of 6 grown children and grandparents of 3.
